Editing Your Content in Divi

Most website owners need to edit or add to their website content from time to time. We recommend you start with editing text as it is the easiest starting point to familiarise yourself with WordPress and the Divi Builder (if your site uses Elementor or some other builder, the theory is pretty much the same but the actual editing screen and saving is a little different).

  1. Log into your WordPress site with your username and password provided
  2. In the left-hand menu, hover your cursor over Pages and select All Pages.
  3. Look for the page you want to edit (note there might be more than one page of this list of web pages!) Hover over the page name and click on “Edit with Divi”
  4. You will be placed into the Page/Post Editor. Divi makes it easy to edit by clicking on the text you want to change (you can also choose the cog icon which takes you into a pop up editor).
  5. To save your work, you will need to save it by clicking on the purple X at the bottom of the page and then Save.

Check your live page in a separate tab or window so you can come back to editing if you need to.

Adding a page

When adding a new page, we recommend you look at your existing pages and decide which one has the most similar layout to what you have in mind – you will need to know this as you can clone that page as an easy starting point.

  1. Log into your WordPress site with your username and password provided
  2. In the left-hand menu, hover your cursor over Pages and select Add Page. (If you are in the list of all pages there is also an Add Page button at the top.)
  3. You will be offered the choice of cloning an existing page – click that option.
  4. Edit the page as if you were editing any other page.
  5. To save your work, you will need to save it by clicking on the purple button at the bottom of the page and then Save.
  6. Usually you would add your page to the menu. The menu is found on the WordPress dashboard under “Appearance” in the right hand menu. Simply drag your new page into place on the menu and save.
